Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip: The Wynn and the Bellagio
If you’re looking for a fun, majestic hotel with amazing things to see and do, you’d be hard-pressed to want to look any further than the Las Vegas strip. Billions of dollars have been spent on Las Vegas strip hotels. In fact, 18 of the 25 largest hotels in the entire world are located on the strip.
The Wynn
One of the newest and most lavish hotels on the Las Vegas strip is the multi-billion dollar Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Country Club, developed by casino legend Steve Wynn. The Wynn has over 2,700 rooms, over a staggering 215 acres. The smallest guest rooms are 640 square feet while the villas are an incredible 7,000 square feet. The hotel is constructed on the former location of the Desert Inn. The Wynn features a precious art collection, a Ferrari and Maserati dealership and of course all the amenities one would expect from a fine hotel. Nightclubs at the Wynn include Tryst and Blush, while restaurants include the SW Steakhouse and Red 8 Asian Bistro. The Wynn also features many of the most well-known high end shopping venues, including Christian Dior, Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. The neighboring Wynn Golf and Country Club is the only golf course on the Las Vegas strip.
The Bellagio
The five star Bellagio, also owned by Steve Wynn, was one of the first “Superhotels” on the Las Vegas strip. Over 1.5 billion dollars to build from 1993-1998, the Bellagio sits on the former location of the Dunes hotel and casino. Bellagio is legendary for its poker room. Before the poker boom, at a time when poker was considered a loss leader for Las Vegas casinos and many hotels on the strip did not have a poker room at all, Bellagio went all out for its poker players. Now, all the best poker players in the world go to the Bellagio to ply their trade. The top pros play in a separate room within the casino called “Bobby’s Room,” after Bobby Baldwin, poker room manager and pro legend. Their high limit game is known throughout the world as “the Big Game.”
